C for Ca-Ca-College!!

College is everyone's first dream land. After high school, we feel so proud to join in Junior college/Higher secondary because we feel we achieved something and now we are eligible for college. One of my lecturers used to say college is Call...Age.

Doesn't it sound true? College is when we grow from a teen to Adult. Change in hormones lead to many changes in our behavior, attitude, our body language etc. We feel as if we are grownups. We don't want to care for what our parents say and feel that they give us never ending and boring lectures. We feel our friends are our world and want to hang around with them, bunk classes for picnics, movies and what not!

We have new attractions, new friends and are ready to do anything for them. I have seen some people go extremes to prove their love and affections to others. Me being one of them. Not anymore though. All this is good as long as it is within the limits and studies don't take a back seat.

It is an entire world all together. Yet, it is the most wonderful place with new aspirations, higher aims, busy schedules with loads of work and night outs during the exam times. Oh!! what a fun to recollect.

Bigger dreams of getting your dream job and earning that five digit salary after studies was one of the big goal in those days. Thinking that we can have anything in life if we get the five digit salary.

Little do we realise that we hardly have the time to enjoy the five digits once we join work. Now we realise that the five digits and job satisfaction is not all what we wanted. Whenever, we look back and think about college, I am sure a smile crosses our face with the gossips, sweet nothings, those big dreams we dreamt in back then.

P.S: I did a bit of cheating on this one. I had a big post written and was afraid if my readers will run away. So, had my Darling pen up for me in the 11th hr!!

  12. Ah, college, what wonderful days they were! So many crushes, eating maggi and manchuri in the afternoon, the bus rides home, friends and their heartbreaks and of course the chit passing during lectures ;) The only regret I have is that I wish I had studied a bit more :)

  16. Funny how we can't wait to get out of school and yet when we start working, we realize how good it really was. I enjoyed your recollections of what college is about as we grow from young people to independent adults.

  23. School and me never mixed much. I got my associates and then got out of there. I'm one of those people who needs to work in order to learn. Sometimes I wish I had a crazy college life, but then other times, I'm happy with my quick little tech school experience.
