I am a sucker for good smells. I have highly powerful olfactory senses if you guys didn't know. I can smell anything to everything. Let me not get into the bad smells part. Let us talk about the good smells. No lengthy posts right? Ummm....okay.
My favorite flower would be Jasmine and honeysuckle. But if you ask me for a room freshener or a candle, I would undoubtedly go with Lavender any day. I can bathe with a flowery flavored body wash but I don't want to smell like a fruit...Yikes!!
Fruits would be Mango or Citrus fruits. I HATE the smells of Cantaloupe, Honey Dew or Jack Fruit. Fruit lovers, pardon me! Coming to fruit flavoured fresheners, Berries, please gimme a break!! I would sincerely stick to Citrus flavours.
I would want my man to smell musk. I am fine if he smells flowery too...:P. Guys, please don't spray as if you have spilled a deodorant. Be gentle like Gentleman. You give me nausea with your axes!!!
The perfume that could linger on me for a day long is my dearest Juicy Couture. Somehow, I have become sensitive to it now. Other than that, I love Issi Miyake, JLo, White Diamonds and one perfume on my list that I had been wanting to buy for four years is Narciso Rodriguez. Not that I cannot afford or it's not available, it's just not happening..I donno why :(
Last but not least, the natural flavours that entice me is the smell of mud after first rain, the smell of air on crisp winter mornings, the smell of a rain forest (I haven't been to a rain forest, but I think I know how it is), the scent from a new book. What's your favourite scent guys?
P.S: Want to know what aroused me to write this aromatic post? Our own Corinne. I was commenting on her blog and my eyes fixed on her name for a second. Rodrigues! How do you say that? Rod-rigs or Rodri-gus? That flashed the perfume I had been longing for and lo...Perfumania is born :) So Corinne, this post is dedicated to you!!
Tip: Spray your perfume on the back of your ear or wrist...people will buzz you like honey bees...hahaha!!!

We have the same tastes!! I wear Narcisco Rodriguez. It's my signature scent. I LOVE it. It is perfect. Once I left a scarf at a rehearsal. People knew it was mine, not because they saw me wear it, but because it smelled like me. I love Perfume and HATE axes. The possibilities are NOT everywhere - they just need another shower!
ReplyDeleteoh so nice to have someone share my tastes...makes me feel good about myself :) I really want to buy NR soon...hehe so true..abt the axes :)
DeleteI love perfumes. It is very important for me to smell good.
ReplyDeleteI am very bad when it comes to choosing perfumes , always use the ones I am gifted :)
ReplyDeleteNext time you know who to ask, right? :)
DeleteAromatic post indeed but sadly I hate perfumes (strong ones specially) as they give me migraine almost instantly

I love Jasmine and Lavender too... Too strong smells make me dizzy and irritable. I love mostly fresh and tangy smells more than sweet smells!
ReplyDeleteF in F,
ReplyDeleteVisiting after a couple of days. Caught up from N to P. Interesting read in Names and thanks for letting us know you full name. The world is made of many such people who get on your nerves without even trying to. I fully agree with you that nothing to beat smell of soil soon after good rain, specially in summers.
Take care
What a fragrant post, Latha! Sad , I cannot catch up with some of these lovely posts due tight work schedules:(
ReplyDeleteReminds me that I attended a conference where they were talking about patenting fragrances. You may think about writing it too. I am not much of a fragrance person. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteI love perfumes too but I don;t like anything that's too strong. And I agree when a guy who smells like a perfume factory walks in, I totally gag. I mean there is something called moderation no? ;)
ReplyDeleteI am discovering that as I get older, I am very sensitive to perfumes. Or do you think they are just get stronger scents now?
ReplyDeleteCarol @ Battered Hope
I think you are right CArol...may be it is the age thing as well....I am already getting sensitive to my own likes :( Of course, the scents also are very strong these days..
DeleteAfter having a hair wash, when you wear Jasmine flowers one smells wonderful. I love the aromas of good food and also divine smells from a pooja room or at the temple
ReplyDeleteI love lavender too, Prudhvi! Thanks for the sweet add at the end! ♥
